It was a beautiful day in Banff for this classy couple! It was chilly, and our drive home that evening was quite snowy…but everyone managed safely on the mountain roads which is always a blessing that time of year. We even braved the cold for a few special shots at surprise corner!
Our day with Bob & Tanya began at the gorgeous St. Mary’s Parish in Banff. What an amazing church with so much history. The stained-glass windows were exquisite, a memorable touch is the moose standing next to baby Jesus! The religious ceremony was beautiful, and obviously very meaningful to the couple and their families. We were honoured to be a part of it, and happy to take the family photos on the alter – what a convenient and beautiful indoor location for them.
We made great time and made it to the @FairmontBanffSprings early enough to make a bit of a photographic tour around the hotel. Stopping (of course) on the grand staircase and the amazing Mt Stephen hall for some great group shots. The guys had some fun with Bob, and we love the shots we got of Tanya in the windows. What an incredible setting for a party! The flowers by @banffmountaintopflowers were a lovely accent to the stuning décor and architecture of Mt. Stephen hall. The guests were all dressed to the nines and it was a truly classy reception. Bob and Tanya know how to plan a great event! With the exception of one failed groom-tossing, the evening reception also went off without a hitch. The cupcakes by Cake Creations @weluvcupcakes were a delicious cap to an amazing 6-course meal by the Fairmont. Everyone let loose on the dance floor, which is always fun for us to photograph. The kids showed amazing endurance, staying up to share in the party as well! We snuck upstairs for some neat backlit shots to try and capture some of that pure emotion one feels near the end of their wedding day. A truly magic moment! Congratulations Bob & Tanya – thanks for a wonderful day!
